My husband and I transferred from Alaska to Maryland without knowing anything about the area and less about the process for purchasing a home in the state. We found the home we were interested in online and a friend recommended Linda. He said he trusted her and his word was good enough for us. And he was right, too: After speaking with Linda on the phone, it was apparent that she is a skilled real estate agent, knows the area, understands all of the regulations affecting home purchases, is connected with other highly professional ancillary real estate businesses (title companies, engineers, home repair …). Linda has integrity. She listened to our concerns about making an offer from so far away and addressed them by never failing to represent us and only us. No question was too small, which I appreciated, because we sometimes felt like we were buying blind and Linda became our eyes. When it came time to make a selection for other services, whether it was a title company or a plumber, she gave us choices and told us the benefits of each recommendation—we never felt pushed to make a particular decision, and we always felt well-informed when we did. Linda responded to all of my calls, emails, and texts quickly and professionally. She is informative—she answered questions we didn’t even know we had (and we’ve purchased several homes over the years). She walked us through the entire process and was able to find ways to save us money based on the applicable homebuyers rules in the state. She always took good care of us: when our mortgage company experienced some internal problems that delayed the closing of the sale, Linda ensured that our bank would pay associated late fees, not us. Simultaneously, she negotiated no late fees with the seller. We trust her completely. Linda is also personable, funny, warm and friendly, accessible, interested, interesting, and available. She’s a fabulous people person, and by that I mean that she doesn’t push herself on you, she engages you, finds out who you are, gets to know you, and makes that her priority. She shares herself, too. It’s a full and complete relationship. Next time we decide to sell our home, we will be working with Linda!
